Snow Cottage is an ideal little getaway, a romantic and cosy single storey cottage sleeping a couple Snow Cottage is a stylish conversion of part of The old Grove Farm. The unusual 'Soldier' brickwork dates back to the 1700's. The main room has a beautiful old wood floor and an impressively high vaulted wooden ceiling. Snow Cottage has an interesting mix of period and modern 'classic' antique furniture which creates a 'loft feeling'.Key information

Snow Cottage is one of the 6 cottages that form part of the double quadrangle that makes up the Old Grove Farm.
It benefits from the surrounding gardens and orchards with ample off road parking.
The Cottage is ideal for those who need single storey accomodation.
Although not rated for the disabled it does have the advantage of being on one floor with easy access from the coutyard, parking can be arranged actually in the quadrangle forecourt for those who would need it, and Snow Cottage also has an oversized shower which is easy to get into.
There are bicycles freely available to guests and you can even hire one of my Canoes to explore the lovely river Stour where Constable painted 'The Haywain'
Guests to Snow Cottage, Rose Cottage and Dons Barn walk through a small small sunny herb garden to reach their front doors. We have put a breakfast table there for these guests to use and the herbs are also there to be used.

It has lime washed or old soft redbrick walls with lots of beams exposed in the high wooden vaulted ceiling. The side of the building is built in the unique ‘soldier’ style of bricking and creates the large double-quadrangle that is the old Grove Farm.
Living area
- Generous, comfortable sitting area with large sofa plus armchair and one of Castiglioni's famous "Great Arc" lamps. The floor is made of highly polished old wood, the thick walls are painted with a lime-wash mix of ‘white chocolate’ or feature original soft red bricks & beams.
- Original pine farmhouse kitchen table and chairs with charming old lace tablecloth.
- TV DVD & Video player, CD / radio / cassette sound system, selection of CDs and DVD's as well as books and games.
Kitchen
- The kitchen is hand made from reclaimed oak and tile, with original cupboards, it has a Belfast sink, gas hobs, an electric oven and a microwave. It has a large sunny window overlooking the herb garden
Bathroom
- The bathroom is newly made with a very spacious open shower and period sink.
Bedroom
- The bedroom has a brass double bed with quality mattress, duvet and linen, a high beamed ceiling and large hand-built wardrobe made from reclaimed panelling.
General Features
- Snow cottage is completely self contained with its own central heating. It looks out onto a private sunny herb garden at the front, where you can have a quiet breakfast and has access to the Orchard gardens, where you can lounge about or make a BBQ.
- We provide quality mattresses, duvets, linen and towels. Highchair, baby-cot, TV and DVD / video player. Music tapes, CD's , DVD's and some children's videotapes are available on request.
- BBQ’s and picnic table are provided.
- Bikes are free for guest’s.
- 2 ‘top of the range’ 3 seater aluminium, ‘Canadian Canoes’ with all accessories are sometimes available for hire.
- Snow Cottage includes everything you would expect from its 4-star English Tourist Council rating.
In addition we provide a complimentary full English Breakfast Pack to make you feel more welcome: fresh roast & ground coffee, instant coffee, tea, milk, sugar, our own organic eggs, bacon, butter, Lavenham bread, tomatoes plus olive oil & vinegar, pepper & salt & fresh herbs from the garden.
Along with 'The Old Forge' this is our most affordable getaway where you can stay in style and enjoy Suffolks hidden treasures.
All prices include vat, towels, soap, linen, heating, a 'Proper English Breakfast' welcome pack, a bucket of coal, basket of logs and packet of firelighters.
