The Bakery

Our Honeymooners Favourite. Since 1720 The Bakery provided bread for the old Grove Farm, now it is converted into an extremely cosy and romantic self-contained cottage. It has a pretty open fire in the original ancient Baking oven which you can watch as you sink back into the comfy sofa and enjoy the sunset over the Orchard gardens. The cottage has many characterful and original features like its brick floor, old beams and massive 'Kettle' which was State of the Art in 1700 for laundry and beer making. Pets Welcome

The Bakery has a beautiful open fire in the chimney of the old Bake oven and it’s original 'Copper' is built in next to the oven, originally used for boiling up masses of water through its own fireplace underneath.

From the sitting room of The Bakery you can walk straight into the sunny orchard garden or if you are lazy just relax back into the sofa in front of the fire and enjoy the views and the sunset.

The Bakery is one of the six cottages which make up part of the double quadrangle of the Grove Farm. It's tucked away at the corner of the Orchard garden, giving honeymoon guests an even more private nook to view the world from.

General Features

We now have a very large private car park and a dog exercise area covering over an acre so the cottages can enjoy even more peace and quiet and dog owners don’t have to walk bleary eyed down the country lanes first thing in the morning.

Well behaved pets are always welcome, please refer to this web page  All About Bringing Pets  for charges and how this cottage may suit your pet.

All prices include vat, towels, soap, linen, heating, a 'Proper English Breakfast' welcome pack, a bucket of coal, basket of logs and packet of firelighters.

All cottages are complete little homes and facilities include modern central heating, TV DVD/Video players, CD players and CDs, DVDs tapes, books, games and a fully equipped kitchen including gas cooking and microwaves. Cots and high chairs are available on request.

In addition we provide a complimentary full English Breakfast Pack to make you feel more welcome: fresh roast & ground coffee, instant coffee, tea, milk, sugar, organic eggs, bacon, butter, Lavenham bread, tomatoes plus olive oil & vinegar, pepper & salt & fresh herbs from the garden.

There is a laundry room with a new washing machine and dryer and there are 12 bikes for the free use of the guests, including one with a child seat. The South Suffolk Cycle Route runs past the cottage.

This is one our most romantic cottages and has a very special atmosphere about it - read the guest comments here and on our other website www.grove-cottages.co.uk .
